Enamel Dots

Good morning everyone!

Today is the start of a new challenge at House of Cards and this month we would
like to see Enamel Dots on your creations!

I have three cards to show you today and they feature images from C.C. Designs the 'Kisses and Hugs' stamp set. They're stamped with Memento black ink, colored with Copics and I used several Stitched Rounded Rectangle dies from MFT to cut everything out. The sentiment on this card was computer generated...
and the 'Some bunny' sentiment on the next two cards came with the stamp set. The enamel dots are from Recollections, I used a EK Success punch to round the corners and to finish them up I added a couple of punched hearts :)
Well, that's it for today... I hope you can join us and don't forget to pop on over to the main challenge blog because Lilian has a fabulous Faux Enamel Dots tutorial to share with you!

It features an adorable little pup from the Simon Says Stamps You Are Pawesome stamp set and the coordinating dies are included! This card is in the mail and on it's way to my In-laws house... I thought it would be fun if Quinn & Maddie (our fur babies) sent their two dogs a Valentine's day card this year! :o)

Let's Zentangle!

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday!

It's Alphabet Challenge time and today's letter is... Z for Zentangle!

Now, I have no idea how to Zentangle but I gave it a try anyway and here's my card...
I started by stamping the background with the Stampdendous 'Dream Text' stamp & VersaMark ink and then dusted it with chalk. I used a couple different sizes of Sakura Micron pens to create the image... oh and a little help from a Flow Chart ruler :o) I used it to draw the outline of the flowers and leaves... then, I went back and added a few basic zentangle patterns. I have to admit, it was very fun and I even like how funky my hand-drawn butterflies turned out! Next, I colored the image with a couple of Sharpie markers... I didn't want to use my Copics on VersaMark ink... added the twine and button and it's done!

Now head on over to the main challenge blog to check out the rest of the DT
fabulous cards!

My first Door Hanger

Happy Friday everyone!

It's Alphabet Challenge time and today's letter is... X for X-periment! We would like you to try a new technique or use materials you've never used before. Well, I've never altered a door hanger before or have I ever used card making materials on wood so I thought I would give it a try :)

I started with a couple coats of cream acrylic paint, after that dried I added a thin layer of One Step Crackle glaze. I applied some texture paste through the Tim Holtz Burlap stencil, after that dried, I sponged the entire hanger with Vintage Photo DI. I wanted a little shine and sparkle so I sprayed it with Krylon Clear gloss and while that was still wet, I added a touch of glamour dust.
Here's a closer look at the crackle effect, texture paste and some of the sparkle.
I stamped one of my favorite poems/verses "Footprints In The Sand" (stamp is from Inkadinkado) with Memento Rich Cocoa and attached it to a Romantic Rectangle nestie. I used the Rose Creations nesties for the flowers, added a coat of Krylon clear gloss and glamour dust to them also. The butterflies were cut with my new Tim Holtz dies and embossed with Shabby White Frantage. The gems, wooden house & hand dyed seam binding are all from my stash... and there you have it- my first altered door hanger!
